Low water & deep holes

Today was such a beautiful day for fishing! Pretty good speckled trout action today out of Sweetwater! At least 15 customers that Captain Jack talked to said they caught good numbers of trout- some even limited out! There were a few customers that said they caught a mix of fish, some caught real good numbers of trout & reds & some limited out on the trout! Tomorrow should be even better fishing. Remember, the water has been low..the tide is coming back in, but it will still be low tomorrow morning..so don’t try taking any short cuts. Heard about 6 different hotspots today- where the twin pipe line meets Lake John, Fourhorse, Campo, Potto Cabalo & False River (in the deep hole where it goes into Campo). Some other customers talked about fishing in the deep bayous- they said they caught limits fishing on the bottom. We have plenty of absolutely beautiful live shrimp for tomorrow! If you get an opportunity, come on down..again- remember, the water is going to be low the first half of tomorrow..so go to your deepest spots! Tomorrow & the first half of Saturday ( if the rain doesn’t come in too fast) should be the best days in a little while for trout fishing! & if you like to catch reds, they are catching those everywhere- so no worries! Anyways, make your trip tomorrow and Saturday morning! Can’t wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves our customers!

Trout turn on- warmer weather coming!

Yesterday, Captain Jack & his charter caught a limit of reds. It was a great day of fishing, overall, for the customers leaving Sweetwater. A lot of customers with limits of reds, but there were a good number that brought in some really nice trout, as well! We had one group that caught 75 trout, yesterday, & they went back out today to catch some more this evening. It was around Fourhorse. There was no wind yesterday, which was a little different from today. They mentioned that it was beautiful where they caught the trout. Today, Captain Jack & his charter – Mr. Paul Sterbcow, his son & his sons friend, caught their limit of reds. They had a great trip! This week is supposed to be a really good week- probably the best we had in a while. The weather is going to warm up, finally! It will be in the 70’s so probably by Thursday/ Friday the trout will be biting good here in Delacroix.

Captain Jack has a great time taking customers out fishing! He is an amazingly dedicated captain. He always goes the extra mile for his customers- to make sure they leave satisfied! He will stay out hours past, when others would call it a day & say “it is called fishing- not catching.” He truly cares, whether or not his charter group has a successful/ fun filled trip! You won’t regret booking with Captain Jack! You will be getting your money’s worth. He not only cares about his customers & gives it his all- but he always makes sure his customers are laughing & having an enjoyable time..he is great with kids or anyone requiring patience. So, call and book your trip today- 504-342-2368! He has some dates open this week & winter fishing is the best fishing!

Side note: we are hoping to fix Sweetwater back up soon & have it better than ever! However, the insurance company is taking their nice old time…we pay so much money in insurance each year..to have to fight them to get what you are owed, when you need it! It’s truly disgusting. We are doing the best we can to get Sweetwater 100 % back in action…even if it is taking longer than expected..

If you get an opportunity, the wind has laid down tonight. Tomorrow looks like it will be a great day. So, see y’all tomorrow! & remember…we can’t wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina!

Friday fishing 12-4-20

Cold day of fishing today, but a great day, nonetheless! Captain Jack
took out Mr. Reginald Slusch & crew today! They came in with 25 reds,
3 freshwater cats, and they had 5-6 throwback reds. Reginald loves
fishing with Captain Jack! They all had a great time. Now, on to the
customers catch..it seems everyone brought in redfish, today. Tomorrow
should be a better day for trout fishing. We have plenty of live
shrimp, & we hope to see you all at Sweetwater this weekend! We love
to see our customers happy, because they spent a great day on the
water. Whether you catch a fish or shoot a duck isn’t as important as
time in nature, time on the water, time with friends or family, time
to just have a peaceful day to yourself…there is no better sanctuary
than being on the water. However, we always hope you guys go out and
catch plenty fish to fill your freezer…I know a lot of you want to
share pictures of a wonderful catch, & this is the season for it.
Winter time fishing is phenomenal! So, load up the truck & boat, grab
a 12 pack & your ice chest, your poles, your tackle- and ride, until
you hit Sweetwater Marina, in Delacroix, LA …you won’t regret it..no
matter what ! See yall soon! Happy fishing!

Tomorrow shrimp sitch

Just received a text from our champion shrimper, Lynn…he said we will have plenty of live shrimp for tomorrow! So use your Thanksgiving break to come on down to Sweetwater- relax, catch some fish for the freezer and crack open a cold one, with your buds or your fam! See ya tomorrow guys & gals! 🎣

Limit of reds & throwback rats

Windy morning at Sweetwater today. The fish were still biting good! Capt. Jack and the Baldridges’ brought in a limit of beautiful reds today. They threw back probably 20 rat reds. Customers came in with mixed bags- even some sheephead hit the tables. Capt. Jack spoke to a good number of customers, today & they seemed happy with their catch! Sometimes, it is not all about the catch..but just about being out on the water..enjoying life, enjoying the beauty of it all, before it all goes away or we do! We will update y’all on the live shrimp, in a few hours. Our shrimper is out on the prawl, as we write this. He has been keeping us stocked!- for that we are thankful..We should have enough for tomorrow, regardless! Like I said, we will post another update. Also, Just remember to be a courteous, respectful fisherman to other anglers! Don’t go pull 25 yards from another angler & expect not to mess up their fishing up. Everyone wants to catch a fish..but don’t be greedy and ruin others fishing, because you want to try out the spot.

More importantly- Happy thanksgiving 🦃 from the Captain Jack, Sierra, Gracie & the Sweetwater crew! Each & every year, we are thankful for all our great customers! As always, can’t wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves our customers!

Spectacular Sweetwater Fishing

Another world class day of fishing out of Sweetwater Marina in Delacroix Louisiana. People caught redfish. They caught specks. They caught bass. You name it, they caught it, today. So many smiling faces today around the Marina. Today’s weather made it even better! Overall, I would say today was a fishing success. Captain Jack took out Mr. Luke Baldridge and his wife, Tammy. They came from Memphis, TN & stayed with us at Sweetwater! They had a great time today. They came in with 14 reds & threw back a bunch. Tomorrow the weather will be beautiful again. We have plenty of live shrimp 🦐! So, if you are looking to catch fish or have a good time, come on down to Sweetwater! Use your Thanksgiving holiday wisely & come fishing!!! See y’all soon! & We hope everyone has happy holidays ! 🦃

One Mediocre day in a Bayou of great days

Great day of fishing. Capt. Jack took out Mr. Louis Lacombe & his friends today. They came in with 11 beautiful reds, 21 specks & 3 bass. They should have went red fishing earlier today. Most people did well today, but Captain Jack was having a rough day..starting with a dead truck battery, locking himself out the house and was not on his best fishing game & the wind did not help out. This weekend is a good opportunity to come and catch some fish. The fishing really is on, don’t let Captain Jacks one mediocre day out of a million great days fool you..come on down & get on the trout & reds! We will have live shrimp🦐 this weekend ! We look forward to seeing all of our customers, whether it’s to catch red, catch specks, shoot ducks or a mix! We love having a full parking lot & happy customers that are coming for a great, relaxing day on the water!
As always, we can’t wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves our customers!
Here is a pic of Capt. Jacks catch today! & just a random pic I took today!

Limits all around

Great news, if you like to catch speckled trout! Even in all of this wind, customers came in with great numbers of trout! & All of the guides caught tons of redfish. Some guides even caught half limits of trout, along with their limit of reds. Good news is..we will have plenty of live bait for tomorrow and the weekend. The fishing should be even better, with the weather warming up this weekend. Even though, it is already great fishing! The water seems to be clear, which is what all of our customers said too. So, I say..come on down and get in on some of the action. Some hotspots include: Fourhorse, Lake John, Potto Cabalo, Round Lake, and one customer said he caught some off the Pencil Canal.
See yall this weekend!
