The weather is looking beautiful for the rest of the week. If you want to come down, we can’t wait to see ya! Unfortunately, we do not have live shrimp for tomorrow. Saturday/ Sunday windy fishing

Tough fishing the last two days. Captain Jack ended up with 14 redfish in 2 days of fishing. Missed 4-5 each day. Captain Jack & group fished till 3:30pm today. He tried every trick he knows & every spot he could, with the wind conditions. Couldn’t make it happen. However, the Wiegand group said they had a good time. The conditions for this week look good- the weather seems to be straightening out. Captain Jack has some charter openings for next week. If anyone wants to book a trip, call 504-342-2368 to book. We have some live bait for tomorrow. If you come early, you should be able to get some. We open at 5am. We hope to see you guys tomorrow. Here are the pics from Captain Jacks trips Saturday & today , with the Wiegand group.

Slow day today

Jack fished with the Mr. Nathen Fear & his three buddies for the last 3 days. We posted a pic of them 2 days ago. The pic today is from yesterday’s charter. Today’s charter was pretty much a disaster. They caught one red & missed three others. Ofcourse, Captain Jack worked a deal with them. Captain Jack has been busting butt, with a lot on his plate. Working with contractors, getting gravel delivered, charters, etc., etc. It never ends. They said they will be back next year. They had a great 2/3 days of fishing & caught a break on the 3rd. They were headed to the casino. Captain Jack said win some money &book their next year trip. 🤪 Captain Jack will be fishing the next 3-4 days & then off 1-2..then, back at it for a week straight. Busy, busy. The shrimper is supposed to be going out tomorrow. So, we will update you all on our shrimp situation, as soon as they hit the tanks tomorrow. They have been catching big beautiful specks- using double rigs on the bottom. If you have a chance to come down, the weather is looking fabulous. So, come on down! As always, we can’t wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina!

Reds in a flash ⚡️

Great fishing today out of Sweetwater. They caught good amounts of specks today! Some guys did really, really good. We seen some new anglers today that caught fish. Seems like fish were coming in from all areas. On Captain Jacks charter today, they caught 20 redfish. They beat the rain. They were in for 10am. Sorry about no shrimp. Hopefully, we will have some for the weekend. Fishing still seems steady with the specks. Even in water that doesn’t seem to be that clean, they are still there. If you get the opportunity, watch the weather before you come & get in on some trout action. Captain Jack & his charter from Saturday- hit the docks with 19 reds, a sheepshead and a catfish. They had a great time fishing Saturday. Saturday wasn’t as easy as today. They fished till 1:30pm Saturday. Whereas, today they fished till 10am, with almost the same amount of fish. Today Captain Jack & crew caught their fish with some of our Sweetwater dead shrimp. If you need any lodging or  a charter, give us a call at 504-342-2368. As always, can’t wait to see ya at Sweetwater Marina! 1st pic from Captain Jacks charter today.2nd pic is from Captain Jacks Saturday charter.

Live shrimp & trout bite

Some really great fishing today out of Sweetwater. Lots of specks came in. Lots of happy faces. Good news- we have a few thousand live shrimp in the tanks. We have some croakers, as well. We have some cocahoes. We have some fresh frozen shrimp. So, if you want to get in on the action, come on down. Don’t let the dirty water deter you. They are still catching fish in it. However, we heard from some customers today that Fourhorse is clean. Weather is looking absolutely beautiful for tomorrow! They caught some big, big fish by Breton Islands. Running straight from Sweetwater isn’t much further than going out of Hopedale. I wouldn’t make the run though. They are catching beautiful trout right here in the interior of Delacroix, like they did today. We hope to see you this weekend. Also, shoutout to all the mothers- here’s a early happy Mother’s Day! We are really excited about the new bigger & better Sweetwater coming soon. We have been in a bit of a rut lately. We promise- when we are finished getting this place back together, it is going to be bigger & better than ever in many different way. We appreciate all our customers that stick with us no matter what. So, that being said we hope to see you soon & in the future! As always, can’t wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina!

Pictures are from customers catch today!

Live shrimp tomorrow !!!

Pretty decent fishing today. We had some nice trout come in. Quite a few people caught redfish.

Great news!!! 🦐🦐🦐 The shrimp boat will be leaving the dock first thing tomorrow morning. We should have plenty of live shrimp for tomorrow evening & the weekend, if everything works out as planned.

Today, customers said they used plastic & fished on the bottom. Some said they caught them on live shrimp that they picked up on the way down.

Update on the lodge: The lodge is coming along great. It’s going to be absolutely beautiful. We added a back deck, with a great view- a bbq zone! We have some openings Sunday & during the week. If you need dates, call ASAP. If you need late June dates, you can call and get on the wait list for the 3 lodges that will be completely redone! Call now for lodging or charters 504-342-2368. May is pretty much full- select dates available. However, you don’t want to miss out on your June/July dates! Call now! Father’s Day is coming…want the perfect gift for your dad, hubby or any father figure in your life?…call and book a trip here at Sweetwater!  😉

Pictures are from last Saturday’s charter. That was the Greer group! Thanks for booking Mr. Wayne Greer. It sucks that they didn’t get to go out Sunday, because it was a high chance of rain. However, it ended up being a pretty decent day. Weather people 🤦🏻‍♀️ anyways, they enjoyed their trip. They said they never seen that many fish in a box before. We are fortunate here in Louisiana- for our limits! It was a great day- because the customers were happy! That is our ultimate goal.

As always, can’t wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina!

Wednesday- Friday fishing trips!

Captain Jack has fished the last three days, with a lot of success. They caught 43 trout on Wednesday. Tuesday they caught 23 trout and 20reds. Today, they caught 20 reds. Other customers did really good. The last two days- it seems like they were hauling in quite a few speckled trout. On Captain Jacks charters, they caught all their trout on the bottom. Fishing in 13ft of water. It seems that they are biting better, if you fish on the bottom. So, that is our advice.

Wednesday’s charter was a father and his 3 sons, for his 80th birthday. They caught some big, beautiful reds. He even taught Captain Jack & his sons a thing or two about fishing! He caught the two biggest reds & probably 12 speckled trout. We would like to thank the Imes men for coming fish with us! How sweet of them to put this together for their dads 80th. They took video & send him happy birthday, while cleaning their speckled trout! It was a fun day! I’m sure it was a great memory for all the Imes fellas to cherish forever.

Also, thanks to the Mays, Brazeale & McDonald groups for choosing to fish with us here at Sweetwater Marina Guide service this week.

We still don’t have any live shrimp. We are still working on it. We did buy 200 Ib of fresh frozen shrimp. So we have plenty fresh dead bait for tomorrow. We have no cocahoe minnows.

The weather is looking decent for tomorrow, and it is going to be okay Sunday morning. If you want to catch some trout, I would advise to come down to Delacroix. Seems the trout are being caught pretty steadily.

As always, hope to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina!
