Enjoying the beauty at Sweetwater Marina!

Mr. Mark, Jimmy, Waco, and Zack are lodging at Sweetwater Marina for a few days. The fellas are from MS and MO and are here for their bi-annual trip. The hot spots for today are Lake Leary and Lake John. They caught some beautiful Redfish and Bass.

The temperature was hot, the wind was slight, but a few dozen anglers had tons of fun today. The hot spots are still the Lake Batola, Lake John and Spanish Lake area for Redfish.

Peyton Lee and his dad, of Picayune MS lodged at Sweetwater Marina with Mr Greg of Bayou Plumbing. The fellas had a great time fishing for some fresh water Catfish yesterday.

Sweetwater retired regular never disappoints. He brought in a 2 man limit of Redfish from Spanish Lake and Lake Batola.

There were a couple dozen anglers who didn’t pay attention to the heat advisory and enjoyed the breezy day. They did this by taking advantage of the day to go fishing. 🎣 They were pleasantly surprised by the awesome selection of fish caught today!

Capt Jack went fishing with his cousin Louie, wife April and their son Matthew. They caught 20 Redfish, 2 Sheepshead, and a Bass, all were caught in the Lake Batola area.

Mr. Gene from Hallettsville, Texas, lodged at Sweetwater Marina, with his family Donnie, Stanley, Mitch, Chase, Dustin, Derek, Elise, Becky, and Grace. They fished the Lake Leary area and brought in Redfish, Sheepshead, and Catfish. They had a great time. This was their 1st time to Sweetwater and we hope to see them again soon 😉👍.

It was a nice day for fishing for the couple dozen boaters that launched at Sweetwater Marina today.

The morning anglers weren’t as successful as the evening launchers today though… those who launched this morning all said it wasn’t an easy day, but the afternoon anglers had limits of Redfish. Most of the boaters all fished the Spanish Lake and Grand Lake area.

Sweetwater’s favorite retired regulars never disappoint. They brought in a couple Redfish and Sheepshead.

It was a nice sunny day for some good fishing!

Earnie, Leo and grandson Ashton lodged at Sweetwater Marina the last few days. Mr. Leo has been working a lot and promised a fishing trip to Ashton. The guys are definitely making memories this week! The fellas went on the outside past Black Bay and Stone Island to the west. Shout out to Ashton for the huge catch and release!!!

My favorite retired gentlemen came back with 2 nephews and caught a 4 man limit of Redfish, a few Sheepshead and Drum. They said it wasn’t as difficult as Tuesday’s trip but, they didn’t jump in the boat like they are use to in their regular spots in Spanish Lake and Little Lake.

Mr. & Mrs. Carley King (Congratulations on the recent nuptials) had an awesome day, in Oak River. As usual, the King family always has a great time fishing and launching at Sweetwater Marina. They said that they caught over 40 Redfish and had a lot of throw backs.

Low humidity made for a bearable warm day! The Redfish are out there… did you get in on the fishing today? Although the anglers I spoke with caught some really beautiful Redfish, it wasn’t an easy catch today. You had to work… but the reward was worth it! 😉.

Sweetwater’s favorite retired fellas said they went all over Delacroix today, and they caught their 4 man limit of Redfish, but it wasn’t easy…. They had to catch almost a hundred little ones to get to the keepers. They went from Spanish Lake to Four Horse for their 20 Redfish.
