Monday Run down

Capt Jack had a charter last Tuesday with Kenney Grounds and his friend Derrick, and they got 11 redfish. They fished that afternoon and caught their last 4 and ended up with a total of 15 for the day. The next day they switched gears and went trout fishing and got 8 nice, speckled trout. For a solid 20 minutes they were catching them and then it completely stopped. It was fast and Furious to completely dead so they went red fishing and got 4.

Capt Jack had some from friends from Florida come in for a 3 day charter. They caught 9 red fish Thursday, 14 Friday, and Saturday  Capt Jack went on a tip and they caught 1 redfish but then he decided to go back to his regular spot and they caught 6 more redfish. They missed another 6-8 that got off the hook. It’s nice to try something different sometimes.

We do have one of the other charter Captains available for a charter on Saturday if you’d like to book with him. Capt Jack also has some openings coming up in the next month.

We have boat storage available as well. They are partially enclosed, and it includes free boat launches, water, and electricity.

There are plenty of rooms availability for lodging this week as well. The weekend is almost full so make sure to give us a call at 504-342-2368 to book your lodging and charters.

Our office is open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Ritchie will be back firing the grill up this week starting
Thursday May 26th, so come hungry!

We want to apologize about the inconvenience with not having Live shrimp. We are trying but sometimes nature has a mind of her own! Friday and Saturday night they had with no luck. They will be out again this week so that the tanks will be nice and filled up for the weekend. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience. The weather reports for today were sounding bad so they will go out first things tomorrow morning.

As always, we can’t wait to see ya at Sweetwater Marina!

Warm Weather Wednesday!

It is a nice warm 85 degrees out today with partly cloudy skies! Overall people that came to fish are catching a nice amount. A good number of redfish and speckled trout are being caught out of Lake Campo, Bayou Terra aux Boeufs, and Four Horse Lake.
We have live shrimp and lodging available right now but are almost completely booked for the weekend. Make sure to call us in the office at 504-342-2368 to reserve your room.
As always, can’t wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina!

Weekend fish on!

Hi, this Tinia at Sweetwater! You’ll be hearing a lot more from me, as I work Sweetwater’s office now! Give me a call at 504-342-2368 Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm for all your booking needs.
Weekend Agenda:
We had great fishing take place this weekend, with the wind being so much lighter than it has been. The fish have really been biting. People are catching them all over the place here in Delacroix. The water has cleaned up, tremendously. We’ve been trying to keep up with the live shrimp, and we’ve been doing a pretty good job. This weekends shrimp supply/demand was a little tough to keep up with, since we were busy hosting the Laitram Fishing tournament here at Sweetwater. We greatly appreciate your patience!! We would like to give a big thank you to Mr. Dien Vu, for hosting the Laitram fishing tournament here at Sweetwater this past weekend. We would, also, like to thank all that fished the tournament, lodged here at Sweetwater, bought bait, fuel, etc.
Shrimp Report:
It has been hard with the white shrimp being so big, right now. However, we predict that issue will be getting resolved soon (possibly as soon as a week). Brown shrimp are here in Delacroix, they are just a little too small- pins. Once they grow a bit, we will have the perfect bait shrimp/live shrimp.
Charter/fishing Reports:
Friday and Saturday Capt. took out the Ditto group, they had a great time and caught plenty of beautiful fish. Yesterday, Capt. Jack took out Mrs. Judy and Mr. Brad. They dodged a little rain in the morning but ended with what turned out to be a sunny, beautiful day. These two always have a great time with Capt. Jack. Mrs. Judy even says she thinks she really can cast now! One of the pictures posted is of the Hoang group. They had a great trip with Capt. Jack on April 24th. The first picture posted is 2 of our regulars, Mr. Brown and Mr. Jess Hutcheson. They had a great trip Friday and Sunday morning, and 110 trout, 9 reds, 4 flounder & 2 green bass hit the docks on Sunday! WOW, Impressive guys- we need to find those honey holes!
Availability:
We have boat sheds for ren and only 1 room available on Friday and 2 rooms available on Saturday. Make sure to call if you’d like to book, they are filling up fast. Capt. Jack has a few charter dates available for the month of May. Call the office at 504-342-2368 to make reservations.
